Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement (6CPA)

 

Overview

The Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement (6CPA) is a five year agreement between the Commonwealth of Australia and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia which commenced on 1 July 2015. The agreement provides approximately $18.9 billion of renumeration to over 5000 community pharmacies for dispensing PBS medicines and providing pharmacy programs and services to the community.

Through the Community Service Obligation and other provisions within the 6PCA, the agreement helps to ensure that all Australians have access to PBS medicines, particularly in rural and remote areas.

Programs funded under the 6CPA aim to assist patients to better manage their medications and improve quality use of medicines.
