Women's Checkout Program

 

Overview

The Women's Checkout Program aims to provide culturally appropriate health services for women in the Gippsland area of Victoria. The program also aims to raise awareness of health issues and provide access to services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

The program has a screening component to assess the current health and well-being of participants of the program. Checks include:

Following the initial screening participants of the program are followed up by a health worker for any further assessments or education that may be needed.

The program is a partnership with Gippsland Primary Health Network and Gippsland and East Gippsland Aboriginal Co-operative (GEGAC) in Victoria.
