Preventing Cardiovascular Disease Among Indigenous Australians

 

Overview

The Preventing Cardiovascular Disease Among Indigenous Australians project aimed to examine the feasibility of implementing an eight week group-based healthy lifestyle intervention within Indigenous-focused alcohol and other drug services.

The results will be used to support the development of a larger study involving a randomised controlled trial of the intervention within Indigenous-specific treatment settings.

The project was led by Senior Research Fellow, Dr Peter Kelly, from the University of Wollongong. The project was funded by a National Heart Foundation Vanguard Grant for one year from 2014 to 2015.
