Remote Alcohol and Other Drugs Workforce Program



The Remote Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Workforce Program is a service that extends across 40 remote communities in the Northern Territory, employing local people where ever possible to work within their own community.

Remote AOD Workers are located in primary health care centres and provide:

The Remote AOD Workforce Program includes Northern Territory Department of Health and Aboriginal Medical Services and is supported by a Program Support Unit that provides sector leadership and management, clinical direction, supervision, training, education and resources and general support.

This website is an online portal for remote alcohol and other drugs (AOD) workers who are based in regional and remote areas of the Northern Territory (NT).

The website was developed as part of the Remote AOD Workforce Program, which employs local people to work as AOD workers within their own communities, and extends across 17 remote communities in the NT.

Footprints across the Territory provides tools and resources for direct client and service delivery as well as community development, and includes presentations, clinical tools and videos.
