In November 2011, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social and Legal Affairs was asked to inquire into and report on developing a national approach to the prevention, intervention and management of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders in Australia.

The Committee received 92 submissions, four supplementary submissions, and 19 exhibits from a variety of sources (available from the information link below). The resulting report FASD: the hidden harm. Inquiry into the prevention, diagnosis, and management of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders was tabled in November 2012.
