Ice forum in Moree, New South Wales

Date posted: 9 February 2017

A community forum focused on crystalline methamphetamine use aims to fight fear with facts in Moree, New South Wales.

The drug, commonly known as ice, is a topic of interest for Annie Bleeker from the Australian Drug Foundation. Ms Bleeker is one of three guests at the forum, on 16 February 2017 which will be held at the Moree and District Services Club.

Working in the alcohol and drug sector for more than 25 years, Ms Bleeker focuses on community education.

'I’ll be setting the scene of the prevalence of crystalline methamphetamine in Australia. According to national data one in 14 people have tried the drug over the age of 14 and about one in 50 tried the drug last year,' said Ms Bleeker.

The forum will also explain strategies for families to seek support locally and how the community can assist.
